It's been a busy season for us at Confirmed, and we’re really grateful for each and every production that’s using us. Thank you!
We’re introducing new features according to user demand, so thank you to everybody who takes time to pass on their feedback through our Discord feature requests channel. Please keep them coming! We aren’t always able to implement every suggestion, but we read and consider each one carefully.
The biggest change we've made is a total change to the way that lineup mode works. You now programme your lineups vertically rather than horizontally, giving you far more flexibility in how you build your shows.
We pushed this update live on our beta page for testing a few months back (https://beta.confirmed.show - accessible to everybody to test our new features), and launched a month or so ago. We think this has been a worthwhile change, but are still keen to hear suggestions for improvements.
One thing that you should be mindful of is modifying breaks is a little tricky. You currently can’t drag and drop a break, so you’ll need to click on the number icon, remove the break, and add a new break if you’d like to move when the break in your show is.
You may wish to keep notes about a venue (e.g. technical riders, fee split information, contact details etc) in Confirmed, but hidden from your acts. You’re now able to do so with the new Production notes field.
We’ve made it easier to create new shows, by being able to copy information from other show types. This saves building the same type of show again and again if you’re creating different show types (e.g. because you’re running the same show in different cities), but for shows that are materially the same.
We’ve added the ability to create a read-only public feed of your shows so you can integrate Confirmed with your website, showing your show listings, act details, and more. This will eventually be a paid add on, but we’re currently offering this for free while it’s in beta, so please take advantage of the feature if you or your website developer is able to.
Well done to Hoots in Edinburgh for launching their club earlier in the year! We're pleased that they’re not only using Confirmed to book multiple shows per week, but are also using Showtime, our sound and light running software to automate the show running of their shows.
We’re also pleased
We’ve had this feature for a while, but it doesn’t seem to get much use, so thought it’d be worth reminding you of its existence!
We have a live version of your show's call sheet. This is helpful for sending to your acts before the show starts so they know where they are on the line up, as well as displaying permanently on a screen backstage. Whenever you update a show, it’ll automatically update.
You can access this by clicking on the three dots to the right of your show, and selecting ‘call sheet’ - there will be a unique URL for each show.
After having introduced basic changelogs (click on a show then click ‘changes’) which shows when things like moving acts, changing spots, sending messages, interactions with and from acts, etc happen, we’ll be building out a similar feature for acts, so they can see at a glance what may have changed about the shows they are booked for.
This will also give us an opportunity to improve the act’s ‘my shows’ page (https://confirmed.show/my-shows) to include information about spots they have applied for, and changes and supplementary information about future shows.
We’ll be closing new sign ups at the end of May so we can concentrate on supporting existing users and focus on our Edinburgh Fringe preparation (we’re producing 22 shows across over 300 performances this year!) so if you or somebody you know would like to use Confirmed, please let us know before the end of the month. Refer a production and you’ll both get a free month!
As ever, we’re at the end of an email or a ping in Discord if you need anything.
